A Private Cooking Class in Your Villa

Cook with the chef, then sit down to dinner.

One of One brings a private chef and a sommelier to your villa, from our home in Lucca to every corner of Tuscany. Before dinner, the chef invites your group into the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class built around one dish of the evening, or two with The Journey. A little later, what you cooked arrives at the table, paired with a wine chosen for it. Nothing to book, nowhere to drive, no one watching the clock.

A cooking class that becomes your dinner

Most cooking classes end with a plate and a goodbye. Ours ends at your own table.

The class is part of a private dinner, not a separate lesson. In the late afternoon, while the kitchen is being set up, one of our chefs guides the whole group through the preparation of the dishes you will eat that evening: one with The Essence, two with The Journey. They are agreed with you in advance and shaped by the season: fresh pasta rolled by hand, a Lucchese soup from the old farmhouse kitchens, a dessert with the spices Lucca's silk merchants once carried home.

You work with your hands, ask questions, taste as you go. Then the evening moves on at its own pace, and what you cooked is served at dinner.

The cooking class is booked for the whole group: everyone takes part, or no one does. It can be added to any of our dinners.

Two lines, one way of cooking

Back to our roots, Lucca. Traditional and forgotten recipes of the Lucchese table, paired exclusively with wines from the hills around the city. No bottle comes from elsewhere. A narrower perimeter and a deeper one, the right setting for a cooking class rooted in this place.

Tuscany. Classic Tuscan recipes paired with small producers from across the region, from the Chianti hills to the coast. A wider map and a generous one, for villas and homes anywhere in Tuscany, and a cooking class shaped by the best the season brings to the table.

Each wine is introduced at the table by our sommelier: the producer, the hillside it comes from, and the reason it sits next to that dish tonight. If you prefer simply to enjoy it, the wine is served with care and no lecture.

Where we come

Our base is Lucca, and we come wherever your stay in Tuscany has taken you: a farmhouse in the Lucca hills, a villa in Chianti, a house by the sea in Versilia, an apartment in Florence or inside Lucca's walls. If there is a kitchen and a table, the evening can begin.

Three paths, one table

You choose one path for the entire table, so that every wine can follow every dish:

  • –The Land. Handmade fresh pasta and Tuscan meats, with wines chosen for depth and balance.
  • –The Coast. Fish from the Tyrrhenian, with wines chosen for freshness and minerality.
  • –The Garden. Seasonal vegetables and small-producer cheeses, with wines chosen for texture and liveliness.

Dietary needs are handled as variations within the same menu, agreed with the chef before the evening.

How it works

  1. 1.Choose your line, format and path on the Reserve page, and add the Cooking Class. At least 72 hours ahead.
  2. 2.We talk. We collect allergies, preferences and the shape of your evening. The timing is agreed with you after booking.
  3. 3.Villa check. One or two days before, we look at the kitchen, the table and the space.
  4. 4.The evening. We arrive in the afternoon and set up out of sight. Cooking class, then dinner, at your pace.
  5. 5.We leave the villa as we found it. What stays is the evening.

Frequently asked questions

Can we book the cooking class without dinner?

No. The class is designed as the opening of a private dinner, and the dish you prepare is served during the meal. That is what makes it different from a lesson in a cooking school.

Do you come to villas outside Lucca?

Yes. We are based in Lucca and travel across Tuscany. Write to us with the location of your villa.

How long does the cooking class last?

It takes place in the late afternoon, before dinner. The exact timing is agreed with you after booking, around the rhythm of your evening.

Do we need cooking experience?

None at all. The chef guides every step.

Can everyone choose a different menu?

The whole table shares one menu, so that each wine can be chosen for each dish. Allergies and dietary needs are handled as variations within that menu.

What do we need to provide?

A working kitchen and a table. We bring the ingredients and the wines, and we check the space with you one or two days before the evening.

How far in advance should we book?

At least 72 hours. For summer weekends, earlier is wiser.

What if we are fewer than 5 or more than 15?

Write to us on WhatsApp and we will shape the evening with you.
